For a long time it was difficult for me to find suitable wood for my living sculptures. Thanks to a tip from a good friend, I found what I was looking for in the St. Gallen Rheintal. I now know almost all the foresters between Sagans and St. Margrethen. There are many thick, mature poplars and willow trees there. I have the opportunity to cut the blanks directly in the forest and then bring them to the Engadin in the VW bus.
For me, it is always a beautiful but also extremely strenuous task to turn these huge trunks into finely crafted objects.
