Alexander Curtius likes to move around in high alpine torrents and scree slopes, such as in the Engadine, where he finds overgrown driftwood in Swiss stone pine and larch. He focuses his attention on flow forms and growth movements and is inspired by a living world of forms.
In a flowing creative process, the new form emerges naturally and is not imposed on the piece according to a preconceived idea.
Increased attention to the given and the free expression of the imagination intertwine and form a vision.
The finished sculpture made of driftwood speaks for itself and leaves it up to the viewer to let their own inspiration and imagination run wild.
