With the ducta-method, it is possible to create curved shapes from straight boards.
This ingenious sawing method was developed by Serge Lunin, lecturer at the School of Design in Zurich, together with a student.
The board is cut crosswise from four sides and from both the top and bottom. This creates a flexible structure that can be bent in all directions.
After several failed attempts, I succeeded in using this technique to form a lounger from a 5 cm thick board. I was able to stabilize this shape with a special epoxy resin filler.
