Black pine tree in Buchs

As I normally cut blanks in Buchs in the fall, a walker asked me if I could make a large sculpture from a tree in her garden.

After long discussions and many models and sketches, I moved in with these nice people for a week in spring 2021 and was able to model this tree completely with the help of a lifting platform.

It was actually supposed to be felled, but the owner of the house was too unhappy and so we were able to preserve the trunk and create something new in its place, while at the same time revealing its original essence. Its twisted growth and branching are revealed in a simple form. The whole thing has an impressive height of 9m.

Although the tree is no longer alive, a beautiful memory still remains.
